Gritter Dental supplies some of the world's best dental surgery and plant equipment and is proud to be an Australian owned and operated company. We supply equipment ranging from spare parts components to complete dental operating systems, x-ray systems, suction equipment and associated items.

Our office is located in Peakhurst, New South Wales, where we have been located since our founding in 1959. Gritter Dental has been at the forefront of dental equipment since 1963.

Mr Frederik Gritter established the company for the production and distribution of our own range of dental handpieces. Products manufactured by us included some of the first air bearing and air turbine handpieces available worldwide. Our patent for the Gritter '6' airmotor was sold to Bien Air of Switzerland, a company that today is a major manufacturer of dental handpieces.

The company has remained at the forefront of dental equipment, introducing many products that, whilst innovative at the time, have since become standard items in modern dental clinics. These new products and directions were the brainchild of Ferdinand Gritter, who took over the operation of the company from his father and in the 40 years he managed the company, grew it into a truly national organisation. Ferd Gritter retired in January, 2008.

Gritter Dental is also a member of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA).

In addition to the direct sale of dental equipment products to the Australian market, our distribution network consists of seven (7) major equipment dealers, of which at least one (1) is located in every Capital City of Australia. We also have additional agents who deal in specific products such as Nitrous Oxide Sedation (a specialised market).

A large part of our market incorporates government business. This includes the supply of equipment and components to both the major dental hospitals and the Health sector. We are also listed on the NSW Dept of Public Works Period Contract. The register allows health sectors to purchase major products without the need to go to tender.

Gritter Dental employs fully trained engineers offering many years combined experience in dental and medical technology. These engineers specialise in the installation, service and relocation of dental equipment and associated facilities.
